FREE Admission to Phoenix Children's Museum Friday, July 1st from 6-10pm

If you are looking for something to do Friday night, the first Friday of every month, Target sponsors "Target Free First Friday Nights" to the Children's Museum of Phoenix.

The line will be long so be prepared to wait for a while-they have entertainment for the kids while you wait :)

The Museum is in downtown Phoenix and is a blast!

I compiled the following list of splash parks and pools in the Valley, since it is officially Summer now. Many have links to get more information.

Mesa 

Check out Mesa Public Schools Pools, including Brimhall Jr High, Kino Jr High, Shepherd  Jr High, Kino Jr High, and Rhodes Jr. High Schools.

Sunsplash/Golfland-you can't miss it as you are driving down the US 60 at Country Club-I just saw on their site that if you register, you can get a FREEbie at Sunsplash OR Golfland on your birthday-Awesome if your birthday is in these hot summer months!

*I don't know of any splash parks in Mesa, if you do, please enlighten me :)

Chandler

Chandler is one of the few cities to keep aquatic centers open post-season, all the way through September 30, 2010. Admission to all Chandler pools is $.75 for children under 17, $2 for adults, and $1 for seniors. Family discounts and summer passes available.

Water Tower Park Splash Pad is located at the corner of Page Avenue and Ash Street, right under the water tower in downtown Gilbert. Splash pad is open daily from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Free.

San Tan Village is a Valley favorite for shopping, dining, and entertainment, and features a water fountain and play area for kids. There is no charge and the area is open during mall hours. Located at Williams Field Road and Loop 202.

Tempe

Cox Splash Playground at Tempe Beach Park (480) 350-8625.One-acre playground includes waterfalls, misters, fountains, and other water features for kids of all ages and swimming abilities. Located on the south bank of Tempe Town Lake, the park is currently scheduled to stay open through September 7; closing date may be subject to change. Call ahead for details. Admission is free.

Cactus Aquatic Center is one of the premiere competitive and recreational facilities in the state. With an Olympic-size pool and three diving boards, this outdoor pool is open year-round and offers swimming for the general public, U.S. Swim, Dive and Synchro teams, as well as high school teams, water exercise, recreational teams, and swim lessons.

Splash Zone at Enchanted Island 1202 W. Encanto Boulevard (602) 254-1200. The newly opened Splash Zone features flower showers and water mushroom fountains. Open Monday- Thursday, 8:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.; Friday-Sunday, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. & 5- 9:30 p.m. An all day Splash Zone pass is $3.

Desert Ridge Marketplace is in north Phoenix on Tatum and Loop 101. Supervised children are welcome to play among the marketplace pop-up-jet water fountains. Use of the play area is free.

Glendale
Westgate City Center is one of the Valley’s newest mega-shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations. Fountain Park, found at the north end of the development, is centered around an interactive fountain where families can play in the sun. Located at Glendale Avenue and Loop 101. Open 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

Glendale Aquatic Playground-83rd Avenue and Berridge Lane, (623) 930-2820. This 8,500 square-foot aquatic playground features nozzles, buckets, cattails, geysers, and plenty of other fun features guaranteed to get kids wet. Open daily, 9 a.m.- sunset, through Labor Day.


Peoria
Rio Vista Splash Park-8666 W. Thunderbird Road, (623) 773-7137. This scenic park is located on the water, and in addition to an interactive splash pad, also features an indoor recreation center, a skate park, batting cages, and an urban fishing lake. Use of the splash pad is free, though other activities may require a fee.
