My birthday freebies 2011 :)

My birthday was last week-I had my driver's license, camera phone, and printed emails handy.

I know some of you may will laugh, but I want to share some ideas for fun & free things you can do/eat on your birthday (or celebrate with a friend or spouse). I shared most of this food with my family :)

*First things first, I got my FREE 50 swagbucks and 100 FREE disney movie rewards.

Denny's Grand Slam (birthday only)

Krispy Kreme-free dozen doughnuts (on your birthday only)

Joes Real BBQ in Gilbert, AZ up to $10 (birthday only). I was a first-timer and it was delicious, definitely going back on a non-birthday occasion.

Harkins popcorn (birthday only) I didn't even know about this until at the theatre when I asked if they did anything for birthdays-I had to ask ;)
P.S. We saw Narnia

Jack in the box-free desert, I chose cheesecake (birthday only-email)
Rubios-free meals up to $7 (birthday week-email)

So if you have a birthday coming up, Happy Birthday! Get something for FREE!

Diapers from Amazon- Less than $9 shipped with 2 codes from recent magazines

If you get baby/parenting/pregnancy magazines, make sure and watch for and save the Amazon codes they have had lately (or share them if you don't need diapers). There are $10 codes to get $10 off anything 'baby,' which includes diapers AND 20% off diaper purchases codes. I get Parenting early years and Parents and had 1 of each (I can't remember which came from which magazine...)

I used both in 1 order and was able to get a Pampers Baby Dry Diapers, Size 3 Economy Plus Pack with 204 Diapers for less than $9 shipped because Amazon Mom gives you 30% off when you choose Subscribe & Save (FREE to sign up to!)...and it came in less than 36 hours! It sounds like you can use 1 code per account per month...and January only has a few days left!

A little breakdown:

Total-$40.88
Amazon Mom 30% off- $28.16
20% off code-$19.98
$10 coupon code-$9.98
Plus for Pampers there was a $1.50 bonus coupon, leaving my total to $8.48!
(I am not sure if this will be available for all Pampers diapers though.)

Hope this helps someone!
Also, if you do order and use Subscribe & Save, make sure and cancel once it ships or you receive it so your order doesn't get reshipped next month.

Sorry for the wordy post too.

Another way to get even more discounts for Fry's is to upload digital coupons to your Cellfire account and frysfood.com accounts-you'll need your Fry's account #.If you like having snacks around or are packing lunches, these are decent deals on fun foods.

*On a side note, I ordered bountiful baskets and can't wait to see what I get on Saturday-maybe it make me feel better about all of these treats!

  • Swagbucks TV-you have to watch 20 videos I think so it takes a while, but get 5 bucks once you have gone through them.
If you haven't joined yet or have no idea what I am talking about, Swagbucks is a search engine that rewards you randomly by searching the Internet, and if you join before the end of Friday, January 14th, you can start with 70 Swagbucks by doing the following:

Target-90% off Christmas clearance

Target's Christmas clearance has been marked to 90% off at most stores.
If you go, keep an eye out for Christmas items that aren't with the clearance like children's Christmas books, paper towells, Christmas pajamas, etc and scan for the price.

I found some 12 days of Christmas chocolate goldfish that were 29¢, but other than that didn't find anything too exciting, mostly wrapping paper. KC found some fun items at her Target in Tucson.

The thing I was most excited for was at the little Target Cafe. They have a chicken nugget kids meal for $3, which included chicken nuggets, apples/caramel OR carrots/ranch and a small drink or Icee. They had to cook the chicken fresh and it was 4 realtively large pieces of breaded chicken and tasted delicious
(plus I had a Target gift card so it was that much more fun to eat free.)

(AZ) Eating healthier this year? A few ways to do so without spending too much

*Arizona (Central) Farmer's Markets-Get your fruits and vegetables all over Arizona from local farmers. "An Association of Valley Markets supporting direct, sustainable commerce between local area farmers and producers and their surrounding community."

*Tucson Farmer's Markets- Fresh-food lovers can find everything from apples to zucchini at farmers' markets in Tucson and Southern Arizona.
*Bountiful Baskets-This is a grass roots, all volunteer, no contracts, no catch co-operative to get fruits and vegetables every week or every other week for about $15.

(The group purchases items at deep discounts and items are then distributed evenly among participants. It is completely volunteer-run! If you are interested in buying a basket, you register for an account, put your order in for your closest site before Tuesday night-there are sites all over the state! ($15+$3 for 1st order or $1.50 processing for any other order). Each site has a 20 minute pickup window on Saturdays and runs at least every two weeks at each site. If you are late or forget, they donate it to a local fire department (no refunds). They offer different seasonal items and you can often add loaves of bread or other fun things at an additional cost-at Christmas time they had gingerbread house kits. I recommend playing around on the site to find your closest locations and see if it is something you might be interested in. Check out my friend Jenna's Bountiful basket load here.)

*Fresh and Easy-These stores have an easy and affordable way to buy groceries. They send coupons out if you are on their mailing list. Find your closest Fresh & Easy Store here.

*Wal-mart-If you don't have time to shop around at different stores, Wal-mart price matches ads. If you see items on sale at different stores, bring your ads in to Wal-mart and they will price match.

*Superstition Market They offer a great selection of produce at great prices! I would recommend that you eat or freeze them quick! This store is located inthe East Valley in Mesa, Main and Greenfield (4755 E Main St.)

Backyard Farmer- Most produce is picked either a day before or only a few days or so before delivery. This is the freshest you can get next to your own backyard garden. He's a local guy who delivers fresh, organically grown produce - including herbs, fruits, veggies, and interesting things you can't find elsewhere (dandelion greens, beet greens, etc).  He delivers it - the produce is a bit more, but it's delivered for free. (Thanks Tara!) Check out how to order here.

Any other ideas on healthy AND frugal eating?
